# Telangana CM Revanth Reddy orders vegetable push, Godavari water use

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to boost vegetable cultivation across Telangana, with subsidised seeds and a focus on areas near new school kitchens. This follows an expert committee report on El Nino impacts. The committee recommended 75 per cent subsidy on seeds for pulses, oilseeds, millets, and vegetables, along with village-level contingency plans. Separately, Reddy ordered maximum utilisation of Godavari river water through lift operations at Yellampalli, Devadula, and Sitarama projects. He stressed adherence to National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) recommendations for the Kaleshwaram project barrages, which are not storing water as advised. Pending compensation for farmers affected by irrigation projects must be paid immediately, he said.
