Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has alleged that 21% of the state's voters, or over 73 lakh people, face deletion under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He claimed the exercise was a conspiracy to help the BJP and BRS win future elections, though he did not name any party directly. Reddy urged Congress workers to go door to door and ensure no eligible voter is removed. According to Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy, enumeration forms for 73.39 lakh voters were classified as 'uncollectable' after house-to-house visits. The CM also blamed Congress leaders at various levels for failing to discharge their responsibilities. Similar concerns have been raised in Maharashtra, where 18.46% of voters could be deleted. The draft rolls are due for publication on August 17.
