Rhea Chakraborty has said her father lost a senior hospital job after his connection to her became known, as the fallout from the Sushant Singh Rajput case extended beyond the actor's own career. Speaking on filmmaker Farah Khan's vlog, Rhea said her father, Indrajit Chakraborty, a retired Army doctor, had secured the post of medical superintendent at a reputed hospital. "They found out his surname and said, 'Sorry, aap Rhea Chakraborty ke papa ho toh…'" she recounted. The siasat.com report quotes Rhea saying the opportunity was taken from her father solely because of the controversy. Hindustan Times reports that Rhea said she and her brother Showik were "cancelled by society" after their arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau in 2020, and that Showik got no corporate job offers despite scoring 97% in the CAT exam. The siblings had even paid fees for an IIM seat, Hindustan Times adds, but that too was lost. Rhea is now attempting to rebuild her life, which she calls "Chapter 2". She is seen as a contestant on the reality show The Traitors 2, hosted by Karan Johar. New episodes drop every Thursday on Amazon Prime Video.
