# Riyan Parag to remain Rajasthan Royals captain for IPL 2027 2026-11-08T15:56:21+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Rajasthan Royals are set to retain Riyan Parag as captain for IPL 2027, according to a report by senior journalist Rahul Rawat, cited by Khel Now. The decision comes after Parag led the team to a third-place finish in IPL 2026, his first full season as captain. Despite an overall win percentage of 45.45 in 22 games, the franchise has opted to back him over other options like Yashasvi Jaiswal. Separately, Crictracker reports that Jaiswal is being discussed in trade rumours involving multiple franchises. Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu has backed Jaiswal as a potential captain for Lucknow Super Giants, saying, 'They need an Indian captain who is hungry to lead the franchise for a decade. I think Yashasvi Jaiswal will be a great option.' The IPL 2027 mini-auction is scheduled for December 16 in Goa, with a franchise briefing on December 15. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Khel Now and Crictracker deliver straight reporting on the Rajasthan Royals captaincy, each covering different aspects of the same story. Khel Now reports that Riyan Parag will continue as captain, citing a journalist's confirmation, while Crictracker focuses on trade speculation and a former player's opinion that Yashasvi Jaiswal would be a good captain for Lucknow Super Giants. The coverage is uniform in its neutral tone, with neither outlet adopting a stance or challenging the other's reporting. The concrete open point is the December 15 franchise briefing in Goa, ahead of the December 16 mini-auction. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - khelnow.com (neutral report) Reports Parag retained as captain without comment - crictracker.com (neutral report) Reports trade rumours and Rayudu's prediction without comment This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
