Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath and Central constituency MLA Bonda Uma laid the foundation stone for an Rs 81.14 crore water treatment plant at Vambay Colony on Friday. The project comes under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme and is intended to address long-standing drinking water shortages in Vambay Colony and Singh Nagar. Sivanath said residents of Vambay Colony had faced water difficulties for a long time and that the plant would provide a lasting solution. He credited Uma, the Central and State governments, MP funds and other assistance for advancing the project.
