The rupee rose 13 paise to close at 95.15 against the US dollar on Wednesday, after the Reserve Bank of India held its repo rate at 5.25% for a third straight policy meeting in FY27. The six-member Monetary Policy Committee unanimously retained its neutral stance. The rupee opened at 94.90 and moved between 94.89 and 95.25. Traders cited softer crude prices, a weaker dollar and lower US Treasury yields. The Hindu reports Brent crude was at $80.75 a barrel in futures trade, down sharply from above $100 in July. The Sensex gained 152 points, while foreign investors bought Rs 2,446.47 crore of Indian equities on Tuesday.
