Sachin smashed a 42-ball 77 and pacer Deeban Lingesh took three for 14, including a two-wicket first-over maiden, as Vida Kovai Kings beat SKM Salem Spartans by 34 runs in the Tamil Nadu Premier League on Thursday. Put in to bat, the two-time champion posted 194 for eight at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. Salem Spartans crumbled to eight for four inside four overs and were all out for 160. Nidhish Rajagopal’s 69-ball 52-ball 69 reduced the defeat margin. Kovai Kings, chasing a second title, next face Madurai Panthers on August 8.
