# Saif Ali Khan compares Priyadarshan to father Tiger Pataudi 2026-08-22T14:18:01+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets Saif Ali Khan has drawn a parallel between his 'Haiwaan' director Priyadarshan and his late father, cricketer Tiger Pataudi, saying both were cricketers who lost an eye but excelled in their fields. The actor described Priyadarshan as 'like Clint Eastwood, senior and calm' and noted the director gives only one take, requiring quick decisions from actors. The film, a Hindi remake of Malayalam thriller 'Oppam', also stars Akshay Kumar as the villain and is set for release on September 11, 2026. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Saif said Akshay Kumar's role as antagonist elevated the project and called 'Haiwaan' his best work in a long time. He also addressed viral memes calling him 'Gen Z before Gen Z', laughing off a clip where he appeared to seek his own blessings from a poster. Reflecting on his 2025 home invasion, he said he has never liked security but admitted it is sometimes necessary. ## Indian Opinion Analysis All three sources report the same quotes and facts without any discernible slant, sticking to straight celebrity interview coverage. The Times of India and Hindustan Times lead with the Pataudi comparison, while Bollywood Hungama adds more detail on Saif's family and birthday. The coverage is uniform wire-style reporting with no ideological framing. For a careful reader, the key takeaway is the September 2026 release date and the fact that Akshay Kumar is playing a villain for the first time opposite Saif. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 3 neutral - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Straight reporting of interview quotes without editorialising - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) Interview-based report with no discernible slant - bollywoodhungama.com (neutral report) Neutral coverage focusing on quotes and film details This story was synthesised by AI from the 3 sources linked above.
