# Varanasi bigger than Spirit, says Sandeep Reddy Vanga 2026-08-25T23:05:59+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has said that SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu's Varanasi is a bigger film than his own Spirit. Speaking at the trailer launch of Romanchakam, which he presents, Vanga noted a 37-day gap between the two films' releases. Spirit arrives in theatres in March 2027, while Varanasi follows in April 2027. When a journalist repeatedly asked about the schedule, Vanga joked that the media wanted Spirit to make way for Varanasi by postponing. Tracktollywood.com reports he would have no objection to rescheduling Spirit if needed. Both outlets report the director's playful demeanour at the event. Romanchakam, starring Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika, releases worldwide on September 3, 2026. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both outlets report the same quotes from Sandeep Reddy Vanga: he called Varanasi a bigger film than Spirit and joked about rescheduling. 123telugu.com frames the statement as a straightforward declaration about the 37-day gap. Tracktollywood.com adds the director’s willingness to adjust Spirit’s schedule and inserts it into a narrative about fan concern and Vanga’s playful side. Tracktollywood.com thereby expands the story beyond the core quote to include the director's flexibility and commercial anxiety. The balanced reading: Vanga acknowledged Varanasi’s size but showed no tension over the schedule. The key watch item is whether the 37-day gap holds, with Spirit still set for March 2027 and Varanasi for April. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - 123telugu.com (neutral report) leads with Vanga calling Varanasi bigger and the 37-day gap as a straight fact - tracktollywood.com (neutral report) adds Vangau2019s willingness to reschedule Spirit, frames around fan concern This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
