Sangeetha Sornalingam, wife of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, withdrew her divorce petition before the Chengalpattu Family Court on Friday, August 7, 2026. She appeared via video conference and gave reasons for not pursuing the case, after which the court disposed of the petition as withdrawn. No official statement has been issued by either party. Sangeetha had filed the petition in February 2026 under the Special Marriage Act, alleging adultery with an actress, mental cruelty, neglect, and desertion. She also claimed financial restrictions and emotional withdrawal. The couple married in 1999 and have two children.
