Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Imran Mirza, father of tennis star Sania Mirza, has dismissed as fake news social media claims that she donated land for a mosque in Hyderabad. He said the viral photograph showing her with former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin was generated by artificial intelligence. No mosque is being built on the site where Sania Mirza Tennis Academy is constructed, he clarified on Instagram. The rumour had circulated for several days before Imran Mirza issued the denial on 29 October. Sania reshared her father’s clarification on her Instagram Stories. Imran said any social or philanthropic work Sania does remains her private matter and should not be publicised without her verification.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both outlets report the same facts: Imran Mirza called the viral claim that Sania Mirza donated land for a mosque construction AI-generated fake news, the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy stands on the site and no mosque is being built there. Telangana Today leads with the father’s denial and labels the story fake news upfront. Siasat.com adds more context by describing how the rumour spread via paparazzo Viral Bhayani and Sania resharing the clarification on Instagram, but neither source expresses any editorial stance or controversy. The coverage is uniform straight reporting with identical core statements from Imran Mirza. The only new element offered is Sania’s own Instagram reshare, which confirms she endorsed her father’s statement. No legal or institutional next step is mentioned, the story ends with the denial and a call for privacy.
