Sanjeeda Shaikh has revealed she was tricked into doing action scenes in Dhamaal 4 while comedy veterans like Ajay Devgn focused on humour. Speaking to Hindustan Times, she said director Indra Kumar cast her after watching her in Heeramandi and asking if she could be funny. She told him her laugh convinced him. On set, she did most of the stunts, becoming a running joke. Despite bad reviews, Dhamaal 4 earned over Rs 200 crore worldwide. Shaikh admitted she had to raise her game to not look out of place alongside established comic actors. She was known as a 'serious actor' after Heeramandi.
