# SCCL commissions 1.23 MW rooftop solar plants at Kothagudem

SCCL (Singareni Collieries Company) on Friday commissioned 1.23 MW rooftop solar plants on its corporate buildings in Kothagudem. Chairman and managing director Dr Buddha Prakash Jyoti inaugurated the plants and formally connected a 100 kW segment on the head office building to the grid. Dr Jyoti said the coal miner is expanding into solar and floating solar power alongside its thermal business. SCCL has already installed 245.5 MW of solar capacity at vacant sites across its premises. Additional solar projects will be set up in line with directions from the central and Telangana governments to meet energy requirements, he added.
