# AI Pushes Indian Education Beyond Textbooks and Technical Skills

Indian schools and universities must teach students to use artificial intelligence without replacing independent thinking, the Hindustan Times reports. Its education commentary calls for stronger emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, communication, empathy, adaptability and ethical judgement alongside technical skills. It cites an EY GCC Pulse Survey 2025 report saying 83 per cent of India’s Global Capability Centres are investing in generative AI and 58 per cent in agentic AI. A report by Indeed and Nasscom found 40 per cent of employers prefer candidates with demonstrable AI skills over degrees.
