A vendor’s cart fell into the drain, while several vendors fled. No injuries were reported. The GMDA said the damaged section has been barricaded and temporary repairs will start on Thursday, with completion expected within two to three days. Residents said the brick-lined drain was already in poor condition and vendors had been selling goods from the slab above it. GMDA executive engineer Vikram Singh said the MCG has been asked to move vendors to safer locations. The damaged section will be rebuilt, while the rest will receive lining.
