# Sensex falls 347 points, Nifty slips below 24,350

The Sensex fell 347 points, or 0.43%, to 77,735, while the Nifty declined 89.75 points, or 0.37%, to 24,306.10, NDTV Profit reported. The move extended Friday’s weak opening, when metal and banking stocks came under pressure. The Hindu BusinessLine reported the Nifty had opened at 24,361.90 and slipped to 24,319.60 by 9.28am. TMPV, Hindalco, Max Healthcare, Jio Financial Services and Tata Steel were among the leading Nifty losers. Apollo Hospitals, Eternal, Adani Ports, Cipla and Wipro gained. Foreign investors sold equities worth Rs 510 crore on 13 August, while domestic institutions bought Rs 4,353 crore.
