Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar appear on the upcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5, set to stream on Netflix on Saturday, 10 October 2026 at 8 pm. In a promo released on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, Shastri recalled Virat Kohli scoring 160 in a match while Anushka Sharma was in the stands during their dating days. He said players need support and partners should be allowed during tours. The Indian Express reports Shastri said Kohli 'charged out like a warrior' and kissed his bat after a century. Hindustan Times adds that Shastri described Kohli walking onto the field 'like a Pathaan' and blowing a kiss. Sunil Grover appears as Kapil Dev, and Krushna Abhishek dresses as Donald Trump. The episode also features Shastri joking about IPL money attracting foreign players.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both outlets report the same promo content with neutral framing, differing only in quoted colour: Indian Express leads with Shastri's line about Kohli's 160, while Hindustan Times adds the 'Pathaan' comparison and more detail on Gavaskar's helmet joke. Neither outlet editorialises on the longstanding wives-and-girlfriends debate that Shastri references. The coverage is uniform straight reporting of a light-hearted entertainment promo. The concrete watch item is the episode's Netflix premiere on 10 October at 8 pm.
