Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with a high-level delegation including army chief Asim Munir, performed Umrah at Makkah's Grand Mosque on August 7. The delegation entered the Holy Kaaba and offered prayers before the pilgrimage, the Prime Minister's Office said. They prayed for Pakistan's prosperity and regional peace. The visit, from August 6 to 8, includes talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Pakistan's Foreign Office says the trip aims to deepen bilateral ties across economic, defence and strategic sectors. Saudi Arabia recently provided a $3 billion deposit loan and extended a $5 billion facility. The two countries also have a strategic defence agreement that became operational this year.
