# Shivarajkumar launches song for bilingual film Toss releasing September 18 2026-08-27T11:52:16+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Shivarajkumar has launched the second song from Toss, a Kannada-Tulu bilingual film directed by and starring Arjun Dev. The rom-com action drama, produced by Avika Productions and BRB Productions, releases on September 18. The song was composed by Manikanth Kadri with lyrics by Nagarjuna Sharma. Arjun's father, veteran theatre personality Devdas Kapikad, has written the story and screenplay. The shoot extended from a planned 40 days to 60 after the team decided to film every scene in both languages. Sutej Shetty plays the female lead, with Krithi Shetty and Garuda Ram in supporting roles. Golden Star Ganesh and Shilpa Ganesh are presenting the film after watching a cut. Both language versions of the songs have been released on the Anand Audio YouTube channel. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The Kannada-Tulu film industry has seen a slow return to pre-pandemic release volumes, but bilingual productions remain rare due to the added cost of shooting every scene twice, as Toss's 60-day schedule shows. Shivarajkumar's involvement as a launchpad is a established promotional cue in Kannada cinema, often signalling industry backing for a debut director. For Arjun Dev, the transition from actor to director with his father writing the material mirrors how several second-generation Kannada filmmakers, like Rakshit Shetty and Rishab Shetty, built their early reputations on family-tied projects. Toss's September 18 release date places it ahead of the festival season, when footfalls typically rise. The film's performance will be the first concrete test of whether a rom-com action drama can draw audiences to theatres for a bilingual release in two southern languages simultaneously. ## Coverage - cinemaexpress.com Leads with a celebrity song launch and omits any critical framing of the production or its delays This brief was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
