# Shivarajkumar tells Pradeep Ranganathan: There is a Dhanush in you 2026-08-19T13:20:02+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar has praised actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan, comparing him to Dhanush. Speaking at the Ananda Vikatan Awards, where he presented an award to filmmaker Abishan Jeevinth for his debut Tourist Family, Shivarajkumar said he follows Pradeep's films closely and admires his screen presence and performances. Pradeep has built a strong following through hits such as Love Today, Dragon and Dude. Shivarajkumar also praised Abishan Jeevinth's work and revealed he is acting in a Tamil project directed by Gowtham Sivaraman, who co-directed Tourist Family. Shivarajkumar will play Abishan's on-screen father in that film. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Shivarajkumar's comparison of Pradeep Ranganathan to Dhanush is significant because Dhanush himself began as an actor-director who crossed over from Tamil to pan-Indian stardom. Pradeep has directed three films in four years, each commercially successful, and now has a fan base that expects similar crossover potential. The upcoming Tamil project with Gowtham Sivaraman, where Shivarajkumar plays Abishan Jeevinth's on-screen father, links the Kannada veteran directly to the Tamil industry pipeline. The next signal to watch is whether Pradeep announces a pan-India release or a Hindi remake of one of his earlier films. ## Coverage - onlykollywood.com Single-source report with no editorial slant beyond reproducing the star's comments verbatim and adding background context about Pradeep's career.
