# Siddharth praised by Kargil hero’s uncle for Operation Safed Sagar 2026-08-17T19:26:23+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Actor Siddharth has received special praise from the uncle of late Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja for his role in the Netflix series Operation Safed Sagar, reports dnaindia.com. The uncle reportedly expressed admiration after seeing Siddharth's portrayal in the show, which is based on the Indian Air Force's operations during the Kargil War. The series also pays tribute to the late comedian Raju Srivastava at the end of every episode, timesnownews.com reports. The tribute is linked to co-creator Kushal Srivastava, who served in the Indian Air Force before becoming a filmmaker. Raju Srivastava, Kushal's paternal uncle, supported his decision to leave the IAF and helped him secure permission to pursue cinema. Raju was aware of the project before his death in 2022. Operation Safed Sagar premiered on Netflix on August 7, 2026, and focuses on the Indian Air Force's high-altitude missions during the Kargil War. The makers worked with IAF veterans and filmed across operational air force bases. ## Indian Opinion Analysis dnaindia.com frames the story around celebrity endorsement, leading with Siddharth receiving praise from a war hero's relative, which gives the show a patriotic and emotional hook. Timesnownews.com focuses on the behind-the-scenes tribute to Raju Srivastava, emphasising personal connections and the co-creator's journey from the IAF to filmmaking. Both outlets present the series positively and avoid critical angles. A careful reader should note that neither source reports on the historical accuracy of the operations depicted or on any critical reception. The key detail to watch is whether the series attracts scrutiny from military historians or veterans beyond those involved in its production. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - dnaindia.com (neutral report) Leads with praise from a family member of a Kargil hero, no critical framing - timesnownews.com (neutral report) Focuses on tribute to Raju Srivastava and Kushal Srivastava's background This story was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above.
