# Sikkim to host first adventure tourism festival from November 1 2026-10-22T16:23:36+00:00 | India | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 4 independent outlets Sikkim will host its first Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest 2026 from November 1 to 7, with more than 20 activities across all six districts, officials said. The festival will be centred at Linkhim Tar in Namchi district and features paragliding, river rafting, ziplining, hot-air balloon rides, mountain biking, trekking and birdwatching. Paragliding is expected to be a major attraction, with participants receiving training under the Sikkim INSPIRES programme and insurance coverage, Deputy Director Manoj Chettri said. The festival also includes the second edition of Tour de Sikkim, a 253-km mountain biking expedition along the Silk Route. Packages range from Rs 7,500 for the Gangtok Adventure Relay to Rs 23,923 for the Dzongri-Singalila Round Trek. Registrations are open on the official website adventurefest.sikkimtourism.co.in, and a ticket counter will operate at MG Marg in Gangtok. ## Indian Opinion Analysis All four outlets cover the Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest 2026 as a neutral event announcement, with no variation in stance or framing. NDTV Profit, Mid-Day, CNBC-TV18 and Free Press Journal each report the same facts: dates, venue, activities, safety measures and package prices, drawn from the same official briefing. The coverage is uniform wire-style reporting. The festival is the state's first such event and will test whether adventure tourism can draw visitors to Sikkim's six districts. The open question is uptake: bookings through the official website will show demand for packages priced between Rs 7,500 and Rs 23,923. ## Coverage Coverage: 4 sources, 4 neutral - ndtvprofit.com (neutral report) Brief listing of dates and activities, no added context - mid-day.com (neutral report) Wire copy with basic facts, no commentary - cnbctv18.com (neutral report) Detailed packages, pricing and booking, still neutral - freepressjournal.in (neutral report) Adds theme and officials' quotes, still straight reporting This brief was synthesised by AI from the 4 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
