# Singapore to give S$600 to 2.4 million citizens in September

Singapore, the world’s second-richest country, will give over 2.4 million adult citizens a one-off cash payment of S$400 to S$600 from September 9, 2026, under an enhanced cost-of-living support scheme. The Enhanced Budget 2026 Cost-of-Living Special Payment is automatic for eligible citizens aged 21 or older with assessable income below S$100,000 and no more than one property. The payout was raised from an earlier S$200, S$400 range. Lower-income Singaporeans may receive the full S$600 if their home’s annual value is S$15,000 or less. Payments will be credited via PayNow-NRIC from September 9, bank transfer by September 17, or GovCash by September 24. The Ministry of Finance said recipients will get SMS notifications from ‘gov.sg’ and warned against scams.
