# SIT questions suspended cops in Sai Krishna custodial death case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has questioned suspended constables of Krishnalanka police station in the alleged custodial death of G. Sai Krishna. Head constables Ashok and Nani, and constables Sambaiah and Babu Rao, were grilled after a court granted five days police custody. The SIT asked why Sai Krishna was taken outside instead of being produced in court, where he was taken, and whether NTR Police Commissionerate officers were alerted. The accused reportedly remained silent. Meanwhile, a Vijayawada court summoned Tirupati MP M. Gurumoorthy to record his statement on August 17 in the case. The MP sought inclusion of DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu, and South Zone ACP M. Manasa in the probe into alleged torture and destruction of evidence. Sai Krishna (25) was arrested on May 6 and went missing the same day.
