State Police Chief Ravada A. Chadrasekhar on Saturday urged police officers to try and reduce the use of mobile phones while on duty.
Addressing senior officers for the first time after taking over the reins of the police force, Mr. Chandrasekhar advised them to use protective gear whenever faced with a law-and-order situation.
He also asked them to desist from doing anything that would blemish the name of the force. The meeting was called in connection with a farewell organised for Harinath Mishra, secretary (security) in the Cabinet Secretariat, who is retiring from service on July 31.
