# Sri Gouri Priya on finding success in Kollywood as a Telugu actor 2026-08-25T02:11:21+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Actor Sri Gouri Priya says she has found acceptance in Kollywood despite being a Telugu speaker. In an interview, the Secunderabad native said many people assume she is Tamil because of her fluency in the language. She starred in the 2024 Tamil film Lover and has since done two Tamil films, with her third, Bro Club, lined up. Gouri said she learnt Tamil during the pandemic by watching films in the original language. She added that she now speaks and understands her lines fully. The actor, who also stars in the Telugu film Chennai Love Story, said she is taking a short break before shooting for Bro Club, directed by Karthik Yogi and starring Ravi Mohan. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The actor's trajectory mirrors a growing cross-pollination between Telugu and Tamil cinema, where dubbed content has long blurred regional lines for audiences. For a Telugu actor to be mistaken for a Tamilian is a testament to how seamlessly she has integrated into Kollywood's ecosystem. Bro Club, her third Tamil film, will test whether her appeal sustains beyond the initial novelty. The film's ensemble cast, including Ravi Mohan and SJ Suryah, suggests a strong commercial backing. Industry watchers will track its box-office performance as an indicator of whether regional barriers are truly dissolving for talent, or if Gouri Priya remains an exception. ## Coverage - hindustantimes.com Straight interview-based feature with no editorial slant This story was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
