# Sri Lanka offers free entry for India Test series

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced free public admission for the upcoming two-match Test series against India, starting August 15 in Galle and moving to Colombo from August 23 to 27. The initiative aims to boost attendance for red-ball cricket, which has struggled to draw crowds in Sri Lanka and across the subcontinent outside major centres like Kolkata or Chennai. Both teams are competing in the ICC World Test Championship cycle, with India ranked fifth and Sri Lanka sixth. SLC designated specific gates for free entry: Gate 4 in Galle and Gates 3, 4, 5, and 7 in Colombo. India last toured Sri Lanka for Tests in 2017, winning the series 3-0. The tour also marks Subhadeep Ghosh's debut as India's fielding coach.
