Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Monday’s session.

Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 8.71%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 4.43%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 3.81%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 3.77%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.99%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.67%), Bohra Industries Ltd.(up 1.99%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.61%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.57%) and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.53%) stood among the top gainers.

Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(down 1.53%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(down 1.15%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 1.00%) and Sikko Industries Ltd.(down 0.65%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 307.95 points up at 23658.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1078.87 points at 77984.38.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 4.68%), NTPC Ltd.(up 4.46%), State Bank of India(up 3.67%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.51%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 3.1%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.59%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 2.54%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.4%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.23%) and Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 2.16%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd.(down 2.65%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.55%), Trent Ltd.(down 1.86%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.97%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 0.41%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 0.36%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.24%) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.08%) closed in the red.
