# Sunny Deol recalls character Karan as Jeet turns 30 2026-08-24T17:17:23+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Sunny Deol revisited his character Karan from the 1996 action drama Jeet on its 30th anniversary on August 23, 2026. In a social media post, he said the role still lives in his heart and thanked fans for their love over three decades. Directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Jeet starred Sunny Deol, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Tabu and Amrish Puri. It was one of the highest-grossing films of 1996 and completed a 75-week theatrical run. The film also launched a lasting friendship between Sunny Deol and Salman Khan. The soundtrack, composed by Nadeem-Shravan, included hits like 'Yaara O Yaara' and 'Tu Dharti Pe Chaahe'. For producer Sajid Nadiadwala, Jeet marked an early collaboration with Salman Khan, leading to later projects such as Judwaa and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The 75-week run places Jeet among the longest-running Hindi films of the 1990s, a feat now rare in the current theatrical window system. It also paired two stars who rarely shared screen space: Sunny Deol and Salman Khan, whose contrasting action-hero and romantic-lead personas created a unique box office draw. The film's music remains a cultural touchstone for that decade. The anniversary post suggests no immediate re-release or sequel, but such milestones often prompt streaming platforms to license or highlight older catalogue titles. For Sunny Deol, revisiting Karan reinforces the actor's nostalgia-driven brand ahead of his upcoming projects. ## Coverage - bollywoodhungama.com Straightforward anniversary recap with no political or ideological framing This story was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
