Infrastructure Development Minister M.B. Patil said the airport, which is otherwise ready, could become operational within three months once remaining approvals are granted. The Court directed the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to dispose of all pending clearance applications, making permanent an interim relief granted in April. More than Rs 614 crore has been invested in the project. Patil thanked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, Senior Advocates Kapil Sibal and Devadatt Kamat for arguing the public interest involved.
