The Supreme Court Collegium, led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, has recommended Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi for appointment as the next Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. Justice Tripathi currently serves as a judge of the Allahabad High Court. If approved by the central government, he will be the 50th Chief Justice of the Bombay HC. The Collegium also recommended Justice V. Kameswar Rao for Patna High Court Chief Justice, Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge for Calcutta High Court Chief Justice, and Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra for Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice.
