# SC collegium recommends chief justices for four high courts

The Supreme Court collegium, led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, has recommended four judges as chief justices of high courts. Justice V Kameswar Rao (Delhi High Court) has been proposed for Patna, Justice Ravindra V Ghuge (Bombay High Court) for Calcutta, Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi (Allahabad High Court) for Bombay, and Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra (Punjab and Haryana High Court) to head his own court. Additionally, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak and Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra of Orissa High Court have been recommended for transfer to Gujarat and Chhattisgarh high courts respectively. The recommendations come as seven high courts currently function without full-time chief justices.
