# Supreme Court Keeps Stay on ED Officer Bribery Probe

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to lift its stay on Tamil Nadu DVAC’s bribery case against Enforcement Directorate officer Ankit Tiwari, while considering a transfer to the CBI or another independent Central agency. The Bench was hearing the ED’s plea to move the case from the State agency. The Court had stayed proceedings in January 2024. Tiwari was arrested in December 2023 after he was allegedly caught accepting Rs 20 lakh from a doctor in Dindigul. Tamil Nadu says he and other ED officers threatened people for bribes. The ED says the DVAC case is retaliation for its money laundering investigations and raids in the State. The Court will decide the transfer later.
