# Suriya may play blind cop in Jithu Madhavan film 2026-08-20T01:13:17+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Actor Suriya is reportedly set to play a blind police officer in his next film, directed by Jithu Madhavan of Avesham fame. According to social media speculation, the story follows a fearless cop who loses his eyesight while investigating a case, and years later returns to solve the same case with the help of detectives played by Nazriya and Naslen. 123telugu.com reports the rumoured plot has generated interest among fans but notes it could be a planted rumour. m9.news reports that while some call the plot solid and potential blockbuster, others compare it to Vikram's 2012 film Thaandavam, which was a failure. Both outlets state no official confirmation has been made. ## Indian Opinion Analysis 123telugu.com frames the rumour neutrally as a fan curiosity, while m9.news sensationalises it by weighing blockbuster versus disaster scenarios and invoking a past failure for comparison. Neither outlet adds independent reporting, both rely entirely on unverified social media chatter. The measured read is that no official plot exists, and comparisons to Thaandavam are premature without a confirmed script. Watch for the official announcement or teaser, expected around Diwali 2024 if the release date holds. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Reports the rumour without drama, flags it as unconfirmed and possibly planted. - m9.news (sensationalist) Leads with leaked/LEAKED, frames as blockbuster vs disaster, compares to a past failure.
