T20 World Cup-winning captain Suryakumar Yadav and six other Indian cricketers took part in the MLBx event hosted by Major League Baseball India at Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday, 24 October 2026. The packed crowd watched as Suryakumar smashed a home run for the New York Yankees and Shardul Thakur hit three back-to-back home runs for the Chicago Cubs. Also participating were Jitesh Sharma, Kashvee Gautam, Deepak Chahar and Radha Yadav, alongside MLB legends Nick Swisher and Adrian Gonzalez and players from the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. MLBx is a shorter 3-on-3 format of baseball, described as the 'T20 of Baseball'. The New York Yankees, led by Swisher and featuring Suryakumar and Rachel Garcia, won the MLBx Mumbai trophy. The event also included teams representing the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox.
