In a surprise development, all three suspects involved in the murder of a 17-year-old girl at Gandikota, reportedly agreed to undergo polygraph test.
The body of a minor girl doing her second-year Intermediate at a private college in Proddatur town, was found on July 15 with her upper clothes removed, which was initially suggestive of a case of rape and murder. However, the rape angle was ruled out later. It was also suspected to be a case of honour killing, after her family members came to know of her close association with a friend Lokesh, with whom she had arrived at the tourist spot.
The police department could not make any headway in the case, as the investigating officers failed to gather any clue even after browsing through the mobile dump and CCTV records gathered from the vicinity.
With the needle of suspicion pointing towards Lokesh, her cousin Surendra who had come to search for her at the spot but failed to do so, and a relative Kondaiah, the police decided to get a polygraph test done on the three and produced them in Jammalamadugu court, where they reportedly agreed to undergo the test.
According to police sources, the three suspects would be taken to the Forensic Science Lab in Hyderabad soon for the test.
