# Scorpio Breaches Ramban Checkpoint, Three Occupants Flee Into Forest

A Scorpio allegedly breached a security checkpoint at Chanderkote in Ramban around 3.30 am on Friday while travelling from Srinagar towards Jammu, prompting a joint search by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and Army. Greater Kashmir reports that police fired three rounds during the pursuit before the vehicle was abandoned in Paprian, 8 to 9 kilometres from NH-44. Police found its rear seats removed and dung inside, prompting investigators to examine a possible bovine smuggling link, Greater Kashmir reports. The three unidentified occupants reportedly escaped into the Papria Peera forest. The SUV had three bullet marks, and forensic teams collected evidence. SSP Ramban Arun Gupta said the vehicle had been seized and the investigation was continuing.
