Taapsee Pannu has called her *Gandhari* co-star Chhaya Kadam a "big fan" and revealed she had wanted to work with her for years. At the film's trailer launch, Pannu recounted how she asked Kadam for a photo after being "spellbound" by her performances in *Laapataa Ladies* and *Madgaon Express*. Pannu said she even recommended Kadam to directors she worked with, telling two or three filmmakers to cast her. She added that seeing Kadam in the *Gandhari* cast felt like "manifestation". The action thriller brings together two performers who had long wished to collaborate.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Chhaya Kadam, a Marathi theatre veteran turned film actor, has built a reputation for scene-stealing cameos in Hindi cinema, including her breakout role in the 2023 satire *Laapataa Ladies*. The casting synergy between her and Taapsee Pannu in *Gandhari* is noteworthy because Pannu, who also produces, often handpicks collaborators for her projects. *Gandhari*, an action thriller directed by Kshirsagar, is set for a theatrical release in 2025. The film's box office performance will test whether such actor-driven casting buzz translates into audience turnout, especially for a non-franchise female-led action film.
