# Taj, Vivanta deny finding rotten food after Bengaluru raids

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has rejected claims of food adulteration at its Taj and Vivanta properties in Bengaluru, calling media reports “false.” IHCL says no rotten food was found and no samples were taken from its hotels during the August 7 inspections. But the Food Safety and Drugs Administration seized 132 kg of food and 15 litres of used cooking oil across multiple establishments. At Skyye Lounge, a pub in UB City, officials ordered closure after finding 45 kg of rotten chicken and beef. Other items seized include expired milk and curd, contaminated duck, fish, and sauces. Action is being taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
