Nagendran said he was responding to Vijay’s earlier “kutti kathai”, or short story, which appeared to target DMK president MK Stalin after the party’s defeat in the April 2026 Assembly election. Minister A Rajmohan called the BJP leader’s comment uncivilised and inappropriate. Former BJP state chief K Annamalai also condemned it, saying political criticism must not target leaders’ families.
