# Tamil Nadu Budget Offers Gold Gifts and Social Welfare Measures

Tamil Nadu’s 2026 budget proposes an eight-gram gold coin and silk saree for eligible brides on their wedding day, with ₹812 crore allocated. The government will establish 12 homes for senior citizens in the first year, recreation centres in five districts, 500 improved Anganwadi centres, and shelter and short-stay homes for transgender persons. The Social Welfare and Women’s Empowerment Department has been allocated ₹9,818 crore.
