# Tamil Nadu Seeks Approval for Hosur-Bommasandra Metro Link

Tamil Nadu is pursuing a 23 km metro link between Hosur and Bommasandra in Karnataka, Finance Minister N. Marie Wilson said on August 5. The proposed corridor would have 12 stations, with 11 km in Tamil Nadu and 12 km in Karnataka, connecting Hosur’s industrial area with Bengaluru’s Bommasandra region. The State is working with the Centre and Karnataka government for early approval, The Hindu reports. Swarajya reports that the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited rejected the proposal on technical grounds because Chennai Metro Rail plans 25 kV AC overhead traction, while Namma Metro uses 750 V DC third rail. Tamil Nadu has suggested separate stations near Attibele, linked by a foot overbridge. Funding, timelines and final approvals remain unclear.
