The Hindu reports that Rs 1.35 crore will fund an environment-friendly liquid repellent developed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, with subsidised supplies covering 14,000 acres. A further Rs 2 crore will support subsidised solar fencing for 134 farmers. The fencing will target wild boars, elephants, gaurs and deer. Another Rs 4 crore is earmarked to remove dense Prosopis juliflora growth from government and private land, as it is considered a preferred habitat for wild boars.
