# Congress MPs urge Centre to keep DAP subsidy

A delegation of Telangana Congress MPs, led by party chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, met Union Minister JP Nadda on Thursday to protest the Centre's reported reduction in subsidy on Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertiliser. The MPs warned that a cut would raise input costs for farmers and hurt agricultural production. They demanded an uninterrupted supply of fertilisers to Telangana during the ongoing kharif season and asked the Centre to maintain adequate stocks. Separately, the Andhra Pradesh Kisan Congress held a state executive meeting in Vijayawada, where it urged the state government to tackle a looming drought due to El Niño conditions. The body demanded free fodder in drought-prone districts, adequate DAP and urea supply through Rythu Seva Kendras without app-based restrictions, and a minimum support price of Rs 300 per kg for tobacco. It also sought a Rs 1,000 crore Price Stabilisation Fund and tomato procurement at Rs 30 per kg.
