# Telangana hands over 394 houses, extends Hyderabad flat deadline

Telangana Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy handed over 394 double-bedroom Indiramma houses to beneficiaries in Hanumakonda district on Monday. The minister said 35,000 unfinished houses are being completed across the state, with 4.5 lakh houses sanctioned in the first phase and 2.5 lakh in the second. Each house gets a Rs 5 lakh subsidy transferred in phases based on construction progress. On the same day, the government extended the deadline to apply for 7,340 affordable flats in Hyderabad's Core Urban Region from August 10 to August 15. The Hindu reports 46,121 applications were received till Monday evening, with Kukatpally seeing the highest demand at 6,615. The flats require a beneficiary contribution of ₹6 lakh for a 528 sq ft unit.
