# Telangana DGP forms 100-member squad to curb food adulteration

Telangana DGP CV Anand has announced a dedicated 100-member enforcement wing to crack down on food adulteration, linking the move to rising cancer cases. The new unit will work alongside a revamped inspection framework called T Safe to expand testing capacity. Anand revealed that cybercrime losses in the state last year were around Rs 1,700-1,750 crore, far exceeding losses from conventional robbery and theft. He also flagged growing cannabis use, with drugs being disguised as chocolates to target children. On traffic, nearly 9.5 million vehicles ply Hyderabad daily. The DGP acknowledged a rise in corruption allegations against IPS officers and said he is counselling them.
