The Telangana government will celebrate Bathukamma on a grand scale from October 10 to 18, with the main Saddula Bathukamma immersion at Tank Bund on October 18. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed preparations on Saturday, 3 October, directing officials to make elaborate arrangements for the nine-day floral festival. Thousands of women are expected to join a procession from the Martyrs’ Memorial opposite the Secretariat to Tank Bund from 4 pm on the final day. Hundreds of artists will showcase traditional art forms. Jaju ordered Bathukamma displays at major intersections, illumination of government offices, and special immersion arrangements at Tank Bund Children’s Park and Necklace Road. Traffic diversions and barricading will be in place from 5 pm to 10 pm on October 18. A special logo for the 2026 festival is being designed, incorporating the Telangana Global Summit scheduled for December.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both Siasat and Deccan Chronicle provide nearly identical, neutral coverage of the Chief Secretary’s review meeting, with no discernible slant. Siasat leads with the expected crowd size and includes an explanatory section on Bathukamma’s significance, while Deccan Chronicle lists the attending officials in more detail. The uniform, wire-style reporting from both outlets leaves no framing gap to analyse. The key takeaway is the concrete next step: the ten-day festival begins on October 10 and culminates in the October 18 immersion, for which traffic arrangements are already being planned.
