Telangana Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has urged Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to allot 11.56 lakh houses to the state in a single tranche under PMAY-G 2.0. He met Chouhan in New Delhi on Wednesday and submitted a formal representation, as The Times of India reports. The minister said a door-to-door survey using the Awaas Plus-2024 app identified 11.5 lakh eligible rural poor families, but the central target announcement has been delayed for a year, according to The Hindu. Ponguleti claimed construction for the poor was stalled under the previous state government. He noted the state government already provides Rs 5 lakh per family and sought separate central assistance under the scheme.
