# Telangana seeks defence corridor status, Rajnath assures consideration

Telangana's special representative AP Jithender Reddy met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on August 10, urging formal notification of the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Defence Industrial Corridor on par with existing corridors in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Reddy, accompanied by MPs R Raghuram Reddy and Balram Naik, reiterated Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's earlier request. Reddy highlighted that Hyderabad hosts over a dozen defence PSUs and DRDO labs, plus 1,500 aerospace and defence MSMEs, and recorded 100 per cent export growth in 2025-26. Separately, Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender met Singh and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on July 30, seeking funds for Secunderabad Cantonment road widening and solutions to rail flooding and safety issues.
