# Telangana to distribute 1.05 crore ration cards from August 15

Telangana will distribute 1.05 crore laminated Public Distribution System ration cards from August 15, 2026, across all 119 Assembly constituencies. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the programme in Sangareddy between 2 pm and 4 pm on Independence Day. Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the cards will extend PDS and linked welfare benefits to newly eligible families. District administrations must finalise beneficiary lists, print and transport cards, and arrange distribution centres. The Hindu reports that the new cards will replace existing family cards and carry numbers and barcodes for online retrieval of beneficiary details. Food grains for August, September and October are also being distributed.
